White Mountains, NH

The people who work in the huts are called Croos and are mostly college-aged.  They pack all the supplies up on these packs that have been in use for decades and look awful but are really well suited for the purpose.  No one has to carry more than they are comfortable hauling and in this case the croo member is actually carrying his load of eggs down to the hut because supplies go to the summit by truck.  This guy had just finished a thru-hike of the AT and was in great shape so he did a century, that is, carry over a hundred pounds.  We were thankful he didn't fall.
