Sad Days Indeed

As if there weren't enough crap bringing us down these days, we had to come to the conclusion that our good friend and director of all activities, Bean, was no longer able to carry on.  His decline was noticeably advancing by the day and we couldn't let him suffer any longer.  We're fortunate to have a wonderful vet who came to the house after hours to end his life quietly and without added anxiety of one last car ride.

It's been over a month and the pangs of missing him are more spaced out, but they sure are still there.

He was so easy-going, as long as the going didn't involve deer, motorcycles, windshield wipers, skunks, ducks, a few select dogs and a sweet, old neighbor.  Otherwise, he was so chill.

He was incredibly active for such a small dog, no ski trip or hike was long enough, that was why the last couple months were so particularly difficult, when a trip up the street took 20 minutes and he looked like we were rushing him, not like there was any history with that.

He got around to all the coolest spots.

And he was an expert at hanging around the house with us.

He'll always be the King of the Beasts!
