Wisconsin and Minnesota have an abundance of
sand, and sand is a principal ingredient of fracking. They are adding rail spurs to load more cars to ship it all over the country (to produce "local" energy). This massive pile was at the side of hundreds of acres of small piles brought by dump trucks. It's so new it doesn't show up on any satellite photos of the area. Think of this hill as a replacement of the many that have disappeared to move the sand here. Not sure what they do with the flora and fauna that lived on the missing hills.
