It rained on my birthday. I'm not complaining, I like rain most of the time, especially in the spring and fall when it keeps the college kids inside. There was a rainbow while I was out walking with Bean to meet Gail on campus, but I couldn't see it except for pictures posted on the internet. I did see knuckleheads crowded on a gazebo perched over Cascadilla Creek throwing plastic bottles into the gorge. Since I was passing the office I stopped into Cornell Police and let them know; they broke up the party but didn't issue any tickets. Almost home Gail snapped this picture of Six Mile Creek. A clear (no anti-pun intended) violation of storm water mismanagement. The city is proposing a storm water management fee so they can deal with issues like this, and the housing development doing this is going to add so much value to the property tax roles maybe our taxes will decrease just enough so we break even.
